    Versatility and precision. 9A series balancing machines

    Series 9A balancing machines are highly accurate and reliable universal machines with an accuracy of 0.4 gmm/kg (0.1 gmm/kg by special order). They are equipped with a horizontal axis of rotation and can machine parts weighing up to 60 kg. These machines have proven themselves as reliable and versatile machines, and enjoy a good reputation in repair shops and one-off and small batch productions in various industries.

    These types of parts can be balanced on 9A series machines:

    • Shaft-type parts;
    • Cantilever type detail (most of the weight is on one side);
    • Disc type part;
    • Parts with their own bearings.

    The 9A series machines consist of two vibration mounts complete with axial stops, a “belt drive” and a monolithic housing on which all machine units are mounted. The frequency-controlled drive is controlled by a control panel located on the extendable stand fixed to the housing. Electrical equipment that ensures trouble-free operation of the machine is located in a hinged electrical cabinet also attached to the machine body.

    Unbalance is detected by means of force transducers located in the machine’s supports and a velocity transducer that measures the rotational speed of the part being balanced. The force transducers record the oscillations of the supports caused by an unbalanced workpiece and convert them into electrical signals. The speed sensor reads the flicker frequency of the contrast mark on the part and also converts it into electrical signals. Signals from the sensors go to the balancing system’s computing unit to process and convert the information into an operator-friendly form. The information is displayed on the balancer screen or computer screen (depending on the system used).

    Machines can be equipped with one of two ready-made balancing systems: PB-02M (microprocessor system) or PAK-1 (hardware-software complex running on industrial computer with touch screen). It is also possible to order a unique system to meet your requirements.

    • The height of the roller cassettes allows safe handling of oversized parts of different designs;
    • Adjusting the height of the roller cassettes simplifies machine setup and allows parts with different diameters of support journals to be balanced. This also makes it possible to reduce the number of balancing arbors by using universal (stepped) arbors.
    • The design of the supports is modular “MODULAR DESIGN” to enable quick exchange of the roller cassette with prisms (to increase balancing accuracy) or with “prisms for balancing in their own bearings”;
    • The belt drive has a belt tensioning mechanism which allows for precise tensioning force control and eliminates balancing inaccuracies;
    • Supports “safety brackets” have “radial stops” to prevent the cantilevered part from overturning during rotation. A unique patented design of “radial” and “axial” stops called the “MOVING ROLLER” eliminates balancing errors due to contact between the part and the stops.

    Advantages of the PB-02M balancing system :

    • Calculation of the “permissible unbalance” , “test weight” and “drilling depth” will eliminate the need for mathematical calculations;
    • Vector averaging improves accuracy and shortens the measuring cycle by combining many differently directed vectors into one;
    • Unbalance distribution to structurally determined points simplifies the balancing of parts whose seats are constrained by their design, such as a blade fan or grooved shaft;
    • Distributing unbalance to multiple correction planes allows for separation of the correction weight by placing it on closely spaced planes. This is particularly useful if a large correction weight can adversely affect the safe operation of the part in the machine;
    • Generation of balance reports for further analysis and record keeping.

    2. The machines are equipped with high-precision rollers. Prisms with pads made of antifriction material are supplied, they allow achieving excellent balancing results on light parts.

    3. The rigid support structure of the pre-resonance type machine is most convenient for small rotors.

    4. If the customer prefers resonant bearings, the machine can be equipped with them, by special order.

    5. The design of the belt drive allows you to achieve a high degree of repeatability of the belt tension, which plays a big role when reinstalling the rotor. The belt drive has a micro-setting, which allows you to adjust the tension of the belt.

    6. The design of the supports provides good access to the “support rollers”, this allows for quick reinstallation of the rotor, and also allows you to quickly replace the roller unit with a unit with prisms, this significantly reduces the time of readjustment.



    1. The special design of the machine allows you to balance the rotor with a small distance between the support necks of the rotor, the only limitation is the width of the “drive belt”.
    2. The machine has a frequency-controlled asynchronous electric drive with a powerful electric motor. The use of a frequency converter provides stepless regulation of the rotor speed, its smooth acceleration and braking.
    3. The supports of the machines have the ability to adjust the height, which allows you to balance the rotor with different diameters of the support necks and helps to center the part when setting up the machine.
    4. The machine does not require a special foundation and can be installed on a regular concrete floor.
    5. This series of machines is equipped with end stops of the rotor.
    6.  The machine can be equipped with both the PB-02M microprocessor system and the PAK-1 system on the base.

    The balancing system is adjusted using the “three starts” method, this allows the machine to always have a high level of sensitivity since the equipment is calibrated with each new setup on the rotor.

    Both balancing systems have intuitive controls. A well-thought-out interface with many tips and diagrams, simplifying the perception of information, allows you to quickly master the control of the machine and get started.

    Balancing systems operate in “real time” mode, that is, calculations of signals from machine sensors are displayed on the screen every second, which allows you to track the behavior of the imbalance when changing the balancing conditions, making the data analysis process much easier.

    Applying the method of adjusting the balancing system using the “three starts” method, the equipment always has high sensitivity since the machine is calibrated every time a new setting is made.
