    The balancing stand model DBST-20 is a special equipment of resonance type designed for low-speed balancing of turbocharger cartridges weighing up to 30 kg. It is multifunctional and is capable of balancing not only large cartridges but also standard size cartridges used in trucks, cars and other special vehicles, provided the appropriate accessories are available.

    The equipment was developed to solve the tasks of turbocharger repair shops, but the high performance and versatility of the stand allow its use in manufacturing and research enterprises engaged in the design and manufacture of turbochargers.

     

    With the help of the balancer you can solve such problems:

    • Correction of technological imbalance occurred after assembly of the cartridge;
    • Checking for oil leakage;
    • Running-in of the assembled cartridge;
    • Check the residual imbalance and the quality of the cartridge assembly.

     

    The bench consists of a cabinet-shaped enclosure with a resonant torsion suspension built into the table and a universal cartridge mounting system. There is an oil system and a pneumatic system of the bench. The oil system has a 12-liter tank with a hydraulic pump and heater. This makes it possible to supply oil heated to 60°C to the cartridge at a pressure of 1.4 atm. Such characteristics correspond to the working conditions of the turbocharger, which allows creating an “oil wedge” between its parts to protect them from wear and overheating during the balancing process.

    Measuring system of the equipment is based on the hardware-software complex PAK-1, which is designed for joint operation with an industrial computer with a touch screen. PAK-1 is a universal balancing system that simplifies balancing and expands the possibilities of the bench operator.

    • Coarse and fine oil filters prevent soot and metal chips from entering the cartridge during imbalance correction and balancing, ensuring the safety of the turbocharger parts when working with the bench;
    • Safe rotation speed of the turbocharger rotor shaft allows for a quality run-in of the assembled cartridges without risks, which significantly increases the reliability of the unit after the repair;
    • Creation of turbocharger operating conditions by the stand oil system allows to make sure of the absence of oil leakage from the cartridge after its assembly, taking the quality control of the assembly operation to a new level;
    • Adjustment of oil temperature and pressure as well as compressed air pressure makes it possible to create ideal conditions for work with any type of turbocharger providing quality results;
    • Cabinet-type protective cover ensures safe and comfortable work for the bench operator and people nearby.

    Functions and features of the hardware-software complex PAK-1:

    • Calculation of “permissible unbalance” and “test weight” will eliminate the need for complex mathematical calculations;
    • Vector based unbalance averaging improves balancing accuracy and shortens the measurement cycle by combining multiple unbalance vectors into one;
    • A balancing history allows the assessment of the correction of unbalance by viewing previous measuring results, thus making it possible to determine and correct errors quickly and to raise your qualifications as a specialist;
    • Monitoring of rotor speed, unbalance magnitude and angular position in “real time” to instantly identify and eliminate external factors affecting the balance.

    Design features of the core balancer DBST-20

    • The design of core balancer DBST-20 allows to connect cartridges of all types and all manufacturers to the hydraulic system of the machine using equipment supplied with the machine. The adapter for turbines with bottom oil supply, such as T5 VW TOUAREG 2,5 TDI, is included in a standard set.
    • Installation of the turbocharger casing on the mounting surfaces of the bearing housing with oil supply in journal bearings under operating pressure and temperature.
    • Free-standing oil tank 18 liters, no refilling of oil is required.
    • 3-stage system of oil filtration allows to eliminate an unbalance directly on the machine by portable grinders. This procedure does not require to move the turbine cartridge from the machine.
    • Heating of oil up to 65 °C that allows to use inexpensive semi-synthetic brands.
    • Adapters to accelerate the turbine to the operating speed is specifically designed for ease of manufacture in a repair shop, and maximally unified.
    • All electrical equipment of industrial performance, is located in a cabinet of the core balancer DBST-20.

    Hardware-software balancing complex PAK 1 in two planes have a non-volatile memory and is carrying an unlimited number of settings running on the Windows operating system.

    The system provides an imbalance measurement in two planes of the wheel relative to the geometric axis passing through the center of the hole.

    Software-implemented built-in system functions:

    • Consideration of the initial imbalance when choosing the values of the control masses (a hint about the need to increase the control masses with significant values of the initial imbalance).
    • Control of rotor rotation speed with a hint if deviation from the nominal value is more than 5%.
    • Calculation of unit permissible masses and control weights necessary to adjust the balancing complex to a new rotor
    • Creation and printing of reports on rotor balancing
