    9V751 universal machine for balancing “disk-shaped” parts

    Special equipment model 9V751 – vertical balancing machine for single-plane rotors weighing up to 50 kg. Can be used in repair shops and production plants with different product series.

    It is possible to balance such parts on the machine:

    • Couplings of all types;
    • Pump impellers;
    • Automotive brake discs;
    • Impellers of gas compressor and aviation turbines;
    • Milk separators;
    • Brake drums;
    • Tooling for metalworking and woodworking;
    • Pulleys, flywheels, gears, blade fans, any part of the “disk-shaped” type.

    The 9V751 has a rigid monolithic housing with an integrated preresonant vibration pylon on which the spindle assembly and electric drive are mounted. The spindle assembly has a tapered fit to achieve high alignment of the tooling with the rotary axis without the need for an indicator stand when adjusting.

    The control is carried out through the control panel placed on the extendable stand attached to the housing. The control cabinet contains a frequency converter for smooth regulation of the electric drive and protection of electrical equipment. There is also a balancing system in the control cabinet.

    There are two off-the-shelf options for selecting a balancing system: PB-02M (microprocessor-based system) and PAK-VERT (computer-based system with touch screen). It is also possible to make a special system according to the customer’s request.

    A standard spindle with a tapered bore is used to mount a mandrel and attach a balancing part by means of a clamping bolt. This design is ideal for one-off and overhaul production with small batch balancing of various parts. For high production efficiency, the machine can be equipped with a hydraulically or pneumatically operated collet clamping device. Re-positioning a part on a machine with this modification takes approximately 3 seconds. The collet clamp can be controlled by a control panel or a foot pedal

    • The spindle assembly is designed for axial and radial loads, and the high hardness of the surfaces that interact with the tooling and balancing parts guarantees decades of machine durability and accuracy;
    • Tapered mounting ensures perfect alignment of the arbor or balancing part axis with the spindle rotating axis to eliminate balancing errors and permits rapid part replacement without the need for alignment using the indicator stand;
    • Infinitely variable speed control of the motor ensures optimum speeds for all types of parts, avoiding “resonance frequencies” during adjustment;
    • The machine in semi-automatic mode automatically stops the rotation of the part when the measurement is complete, freeing up the operator’s time for auxiliary operations, such as preparing the next part;
    • It is possible to increase the productivity of the operation with machine modules, such as the “collet clamping module” or the “unbalance correction module” (drilling or drilling and milling), available by special order.

    Features and functions of the PAK-VERT balancing system:

    • Automatic calculation of “allowable unbalance”, “test weight” and “drilling depth” simplifies machine setup and balancing even for untrained personnel, solving problems of finding qualified personnel and improving machine setup;
    • Machine and balancing system successfully balances parts that are on the borderline between “single-plane” and “two-plane” types;
    • Display of unbalance angle position in a vectorial pie chart and color-coded unbalance tolerance indication, providing precise control and instantaneous location of unbalance correction;
    • Static-momentum balancing determines static and moment unbalance components, facilitating balancing of “problematic” parts with asymmetric shapes due to thermal deformations or misalignment during assembly;
    • Distributing unbalance across design points makes it easier to balance parts with limited correction points. Examples of such parts are paddle fans, slot drums or baskets with turrets to attach correction weights.

    The vertical balancing machine 9V751 has a high accuracy of determining the imbalance. All machines are manufactured with an accuracy of at least 4 g ∙ mm / kg (1.0 g ∙ mm / kg by special order). The popularity of machines in this series is due to:

The vertical balancing machine 9V751 can operate in a “semi-automatic” mode, and after the measurement cycle is completed, the spindle rotation will turn off automatically (without human intervention). This will allow the operator to perform auxiliary operations in parallel with balancing, for example, to prepare the next part or test loads.
    3. To increase productivity and simplify the process of removing imbalances, we can additionally equip the vertical balancing machine 9V751 with “drilling module” or “milling module”.
    4. Also, the machine can be equipped with both the PB-02M microprocessor system and the PAK-1V system based on an industrial PC.
    5. Computing unit The balancing system PB-02М is built on the basis of modern microprocessor technology and has a closed enclosure. That allows operating in adverse conditions, such as dustiness of rooms or low temperatures (up to -2 ° С).

    Both balancing systems have intuitive controls. Well-thought-out interface with many tips and diagrams, simplifying the perception of information, allows you to quickly master the control of the machine and get started. 

    Balancing systems operate in “real time” mode. Calculations of signals from machine sensors are displayed on the screen every second. That allows you to track the behavior of the imbalance when changing the balancing conditions, making the data analysis process much easier. 

    Applying the method of adjusting the balancing system using the “three starts” method, the equipment always has high sensitivity since the machine is calibrated every time a new setting is made. 

    The balancing system PB-02M has such functions as:

    • machine takes into account the eccentricity of the equipment;
    • it also averages vector imbalance.

    • “calculating the imbalance on structurally determined points”;

    Digital system is based on an industrial fanless computer with both a touch screen and a measuring unit.

    Set-up mode by “triple start-ups” method with the use of calibration weights on the serial rotors with initial unbalance.

    The operator calibrates the machine, enabling to reach the maximum sensitivity of the machine, thus exempting from the duty to pay annual calibration fees.

    • Calculation of the balance tolerance values, are obviously, recorded in technical documentation for the balancing product.
    • In addition, the software makes value calculation of the correction test weights to simplify the tuning process for the balancing rotor.
    • Real-time balancing display, i.e. if there is any defect or a hindrance of a rotor, it’s visible immediately as fluctuation in measurement result.
