    9D718 Universal machine for dynamic balancing of parts up to 3000 kg

    The machine model 9D718 is a universal balancing equipment of pre-resonance type, which allows to balance parts weighing from 30 to 3000 kg. The machine has a horizontal axis of rotation that allows to work with any types of rotors, therefore the equipment is widespread among representatives of repair shops and enterprises producing parts with serial, small-batch and single-unit production.

    The 9D718 can be used to balance such parts:

    • Shaft-type parts;
    • Disc type parts without their own bearing journals (using a balancing mandrel);
    • Cantilever-type parts (parts with most of their weight behind one of their supports);
    • Parts or assemblies with their own bearings (when using optional accessories).

    The 9D718 has a reinforced design and a high power electric drive system to handle heavy workpieces. Structurally the machine is the same as any other machine of the 9D series, but to increase the efficiency of the machine it is often available with additional modules such as “jacks for shock-free installation of parts” or with an “unbalance correction module”. The electric drive of the machine depends on the customer’s needs. When placing an order you can choose between “axial” or “belt” drive, which will transmit the torque from the motor to the workpiece. By special order, the machine can be equipped with both “axial” and “belt” drive, which increases the versatility and reliability of the machine.

    The machine has a lot of know-how that allows efficient and fast changeovers, as well as sophisticated software that improves both comfort and quality of work of the machine operator. Depending on the customer’s production requirements, the balancing machine can be equipped with one of two balancing systems: PB-02M (balancing system based on the modern microprocessor technology) or PAK-1 (hardware-software complex working on the industrial computer with a touch screen).

    • High load capacity and the ability to work with parts with large initial unbalance allows the balancing of large machine parts with large wear or manufacturing defects such as necks that are not tight with other parts or metal warping due to temperature deformations.
    • The high balancing accuracy of 0.4 g*mm/kg allows you to balance critical machine components such as spindles, gyroscopes or turbine rotors. There is practically no part with which this machine cannot work. The accuracy of the machine can be increased up to 0.1 g*mm/kg by special order;
    • Height and design of supports allow to work with big and complex parts with diameter up to 2000 mm. These features allow to service most of the common parts without risk for the operator and surrounding personnel;
    • The bed length can be made in any size thanks to the modularity of the design, which allows to work with any kind of parts.

    Features of the hardware and software complex PAK-1:

    • Real-time display of unbalance magnitude and position in graphic and digital format on one screen in two measuring planes allows quick and qualitative analysis of unbalance behavior during the balancing process, providing high quality measurements;
    • Self-calibration of the machine ensures high precision and quality of measurement at all times and saves the time and expense of calling in a third-party technician to perform the procedure. Calibration is accessible to anyone with any level of training and takes less than 1 minute;
    • The interface includes many operator prompts that guide the operator through the machine setup process, and also calculates and graphically displays the maximum allowable unbalance, providing an instant indication of the operator’s balancing progress;
    • The software has many features that extend not only the capabilities of the equipment, but also those of the machine operator, allowing for efficient balancing operations.

    Design features of the machine

    Generally, every dynamic balancing machine (9D718 in this case) has the unique micro-tuning mechanism ® technology, that eliminates the “thread” effect (when the rotor moves axially).

    Furthermore, the supports are set relative to the bed with a chain mechanical drive, this simplifies the setup process.

    So the special design of the supports allows you to install the rotor without paying attention to its length, the only limitation is the width of the “drive belt” and the length of the bed (By special order, the bed can be made under the rotor of any length).

    The “belt drive” has the patented LONG STROKE ® design which allows with just two drive belts to balance any rotor regardless.

    However, there is an alternative to a “belt drive” is an “axial drive”, which uses a driveshaft that is capable of transmitting large torque from the electric motor to the rotor. Such a drive is used for parts with high aerodynamic drag. In addition, the axial drive of all machines of the 9D series is equipped with a full-fledged quill.

    By special order, it is possible to order a combined version of the machine (with two drives: axial and belt).

    Belt drive also provides versatility of the machine, the large travel of tension pulley allows only one or two belts to be used. Belt installation does not require disassembly of the unit.

    All electrical equipment is located in the cabinet, the outer cables are in metal hose. Nevertheless, the assembly matches CE standards.

    Preconfigured frequency-controlled asynchronous electric drive allows controlling of the rotor speed, as well as acceleration and deceleration process.

    Lastly, safe working conditions on the dynamic balancing machine 9D718 are provided by rigid stops, protective covers of the drive belt and rotating pulleys, safety interlocks, ergonomic controls, etc.

    PAK-1 BALANCING SYSTEM

    Firstly, the digital system is based on an industrial fanless computer with a touch screen and a measuring unit.

    Secondly, set-up mode by “triple start-ups” method with the use of calibration weights on the serial rotors with initial unbalance.

    At last, calibration of the machine is made by the operator enabling to reach the maximum sensitivity of the machine, thus exempting from the duty to pay annual calibration fees.

    Even so, take in consideration following functions:
    • Calculation of the balance tolerance values in default of technical documentation for the balancing product.
    • Value calculation of the correction test weights to simplify the tuning process for the balancing rotor.
    • Real-time balancing display, i.e. if there is any defect or a hindrance of a rotor, it’s visible immediately as fluctuation in measurement result.
    • View of unbalance value in grams, gmm, gsm, gmm / kg optionally.
    • Taking into account the eccentricity of the balancing mandrel.
    • Unbalance distribution on n-planes correction
    • Calculation of hole depth for correction of unbalance.
    • Possibility of decomposition of correcting weights into structurally conditioned anchoring points (blades, fans, slots).
    • Rotor balancing report creating and printing.
    • USB port for printer connection, USB-flash memory, port for connecting to local network and Ethernet network.
